As a dedicated and ambitious speech-language pathologist since 2010, I have a passion for empowering children and adults to surmount communication obstacles and ascend to their full communication potential. My varied experience in various in-person, virtual, and travel settings includes public and religious elementary and high schools, skilled nursing facilities, hospital-affiliated pediatric clinics with a high Spanish-speaking population, private clinics, and private practice. I endeavor to apply a "holistic lens" and apply a treatment plan that priorities the dignity and sanctity of the person and the objective of an improved quality of life over the individual condition or disability. I am a robust proponent of a family-centered and interdisciplinary approach and, therefore, enlist participation of family members during treatment sessions and collaborate with examine all environmental factors.
She has a passion for treating teenagers and young adults with cognitive-linguistic and social communication challenges impacted by acquired brain injury, autism spectrum disorder, non-verbal learning disability, developmental trauma, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Strongly committed to incorporating hands-on and real-world activities into treatment plans, she endeavors to empower her patients to capitalize upon their communicative and cognitive-linguistic strengths to fully access and actively participate in social, religious, community, and vocational activities. Amy has integrated animal-assisted therapy into her past practice, obtained advanced training in feeding treatment and myofunctional disorders, and participated in a speech-language therapy Spanish immersion program in Costa Rica.
She maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date with the latest developments in speech-language pathology to ensure the highest standard of care.
